Each child or group will work with either the Librarian (Kendra Bowden) or the Reading Specialist (Mya Anzures). Children will be encouraged to explore reading through a multi-sensory approach to practicing decoding, fluency, and comprehension. Lessons will be designed around the individual needs of each child/group.
Between the two of us we have earned 2 bachelor's degrees and 2 master's degrees. We have taught Kindergarten-8th grade in all subject areas with special focus given to reading and writing. Kendra (master's degree in Library Science) has been an educator for 9 years and Mya (master's degree in Reading Instruction) has been an educator for 10 years. Through encouragement and determination children will believe in themselves, take risks, and succeed!
